We will be doing a few of our routines, plus getting people up to have a go. So if you feel in the mood for a jiggle, a wiggle and a giggle - we'll see you there :)

(Plus there's loads of other activities for all ages and abilities, and ALL FREE!)

We're involved as guests of the NHS buzz team,,Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust, and you may see us hanging around the Health Zone when not performng, chatting about how great bellydance is for helping with body confidence, self-esteem, balance, friendship, mobility and lots of other reasons too!

Hope to see you there x

  • No class on 17th May

There's no class on 17th May - but back to normal from 24th May.

We're busy rehearsing for a couple of performances over the next few months - an Eid party in June, our annual Summer Sizzler Hafla on 1st July, and a return to Wythenshawe Games at the end of July, where we will be holding bellydance taster sessions as well as performing for the crowds, promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of bellydancing - but more on that nearer the time.

Until then, feel free to join us on Thursday nights at the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre, to put some jiggle and wiggle back into your life!!

  • It's not all about shaking your belly!!

People are often put off by the idea of bellydancing, thinking that you have to expose your stomach area, but you don't have to if you don't want to!

It is thought the term 'bellydancing' comes from the fact that most of the moves are driven from your central core of muscles, most noticably in the stomach area (same as your 'six pack'). However, we use LOTS of other muscles too!!

We can choose for the moves to be high- or low-energy to suit all abilities, and we use props to enhance the moves and give us an element of fun in the dance too.

So why not have a look at some of the routines we have been practising in class - and imagine yourself joining us next week at the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre! You would be very welcome :)
